Hi.
I have a little problem with WOL.
How can i check what woke up my OMV?
Only one ip send magic packets but after 10 minutes hibernation OMV woke up.
I don't see anything suspicious in syslog.
Regards
Jakub

Only once or constant behavior? The network card is it realtek?
Only once or constant behavior? The network card is it realtek?
Ah, those of us who have learned the joys of Realtek..
Yes is Realtek RTL8201CL.
So. What now?
Never heard of that chipset before, from google I see is old. Fast Ethernet
I believe the WOL problem is with the newest chipsets.
Is this constant behaviour ?
what's the output of ethtool eth0 any other wake mode enabled?
Do you have XBMC/Kodi on any device running?
If yes, please check this under 1. a) -> 1.

Yes i have openelec on my RPi.
But i not have installed this plugin.
Regards
Ps. Sorry for my english
Looks fine. Also doesn't support modes like wake on net activity or pattern. Again was this once or is constant behavior? You can run tcpdump in another Linux LAN client listening on port 9 to see if you get who's sending magic packets
Thx for answers. Yes this is constant behavior.
Ok i check via tcpdump what send wol packets.
Thx again
Yes i have openelec on my RPi.
But i not have installed this plugin.
What skin are you using?
Please disconnect your Pi from the network and try if it is happening again
Ok. Pi disconnected and the same issue.
Woke up after 10minutes.
Damn
How many LAN clients you have?
tcpdump -i eth0 'port 9' should stay still, if anything comes the packet will be displayed
Hmm. 9 clients.
Ok i run tcpdump on my mac to sniff port 9.
If any router send wol packets i catch it.
If any router send wol packets i catch it.
Remember this could be a realtek bug....is well know that MB with some realtek Nics with WOL enabled have to be shutted down twice. I have to deal with this in my own setup
Ok. OMV woke up. Nothing in tcpdump.
I check tcpdump command and send after woke up another magic packets.
Tcpdump catch it so it work
Daaaamn.
Double hibernate nothing change.
Have you tried different modes? shutdown, suspend to RAM ?
Disable WOL?
IIRC there was a user who synced his smartphone with owncloud on OMV and got the same behavior
So. I need WOL to wake up my OMV when my phone is in LAN. Then Autoshutdown check ip of my all computers. When all ip is down then going to sleep. For night. Then i woke up with my phone. And loop.
On OMV i have i CIFS share and DLNA service. Nothing more.
Different modes nothing change.
And it could not be your phone which wakes up omv every 10 min?
No i turn off phone for test.
Now i check this on FreeNas.
If this is Realtek bug on Debian i need change a NIC.
But i dont now what NIC choose.
