Hi,
First post on these forums!
At the moment I'm searching for new NAS OS so I'm testing OMV and OMV looks very interesting.
Is it already clear when 3.x comes out of beta? Just a rough indication if possible.
Thank you.

The core system seems to be ready now, but the plugins need to be adapted now.
i cannot give you an exact date, but it should not take too much time.
Thank you for answering my question!
Awesome, that is much sooner than I thought!
I´m waiting, too .... for my new NAS
Hi guys
is it possible to say when OMV 3 will be ready?
Since one year I´ld build-up my new server and wait for OMV 3. In Dec. 2015 i bought the components because the system should be ready in December - but .....
Please rescue me...
OMV 3.x is fine to use unless you use the luks encryption plugin. It still is not ported.
But it is in Beta-state .... not for safe use now?
I´m a new Linux user and i´m not be able to fix issues alone
That means it´s important for me to have a relative stable platform......
I read at Technikaffe.de that there were a lot of problems with Snapraid / AUFS? That were my prefered pool.

I don't think it is beta. That is why I recommended using it.

I haven't heard of any issues with snapraid? Can you elaborate? AUFS is gone though because it isn't in the jessie-backports kernel. mergerfs is an excellent replacement with a very active developer.

Any news since 7. Juni?
From my side it is ready for release, only small improvements are done at the moment. If the plugin developers give their go then we can do the final step.

I agree that it is ready. The only thing left from the plugin side is the LUKS plugin. Should that delay the official release?
I did a fresh OMV3 installation, and I being using it for a week now.
It's good.
Some plug-in is not ready though.
I need Dnsmasq for now.
Overall, it's good.
Thanks guys.

Is there a schedule how long it will take to port it to OMV3?

That is on the abandoned list. I don't consider it a plugin that should stop official OMV 3.x release. There are probably dockers out there that you can run dnsmasq in that include a web interface.

I PM'd igrnt last night about it but he said previously that he would not have time until at least 2017 to do it. I wanted to help with it but I just haven't had enough uninterrupted time to figure that plugin out.

They told about that in the forum from Technikaffe.de .... there are a lot of real freaks.
I could not explain that exactly.

thread #30 - 31 ......
They wrote on June 28th. about it.
Not much to help explain what isn't working. I have both plugins on my test VM and I'm not having a problem. Wonder what their issue is/was?? Those posts are months old though.
...shure ... i know that...... but the experts there are really good.
You mean that the Beta can be used at that stadium from somebody who is not a computer-nerd like me?
but the experts there are really good.
I wrote the snapraid plugin and they are saying it is causing the problem. Not seeing much of their expertise on this problem.

If you could use OMV 2.x, you can use OMV 3.x.

Thank you ... OMV 2.x i had installed on my M.2 - SSD for training and that worked fine.
At "Technikaffe-Forum" - they spoke from Snapraid / AUFS ..... this combination has a lot of errors - but the last statement were from end of June. That´s right. There were no newer comments about that.
And my project should be Snapraid / AUFS-pooling.
AUFS is no longer included or supported. It's obsolete and you shouldn't plan to include it in a new system. You should use mergerfs instead.
