Do you have ssh access?
-
Have you confirmed which IP had been assigned to your OMV?
Have you tried to access is by host name rather than by IP? -
ip was 192.168.1.5. Could it have changed by itself?
when i write openmediavault on the browsers address bar i get a google search result. Thanks -
Better to check which IP has been assigned by your router.
Do you know the host name? If it is "openmediavault" try "\\openmediavault", "\\openmediavault.local" or "http://openmediavault/" in the address bar
-
Or if using a fritzBox, at least in my country it is by far the most used one, try openmediavault.fritz.box
You can also just ping the ip and see, if it is answering. Hit the windows key, than type cmd and enter. In the termonal you can type ping 192.168.1.5 and also try with the assigned host name instead of the numbers. -
ok i have found it through the router.it is 192.168.1.4 now.But why dd it change? Thanks for the help!!!

Glad you found a solution. Did you actually assign a static IP? Or was it just always the same IP? In the second case you were just lucky in the past.
However, using host names instead of IPs is a good alternative.

If you have not set an static ip, the router gives one via dhcp. The router can assign the same to the same devices every time or just starts with the lowest and than keeps counting (the are a lot of different scenarios, but those two are by far the most common). One possible solution is, you had more devices in the network before. However, as @macom wrote, they easiest thing is to use the hostname instead of the ip, as you do while browsing the internet.

I found the setting. It was set to dhcp.I changed it to static.Thank ou very much!
