update management errors

  • I did this command ...

    cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/omv-extras-org.list

    got this response ...

    # This is file is generated.
    # OMV-Extras repos
    # OMV-Extras.org
    deb https://dl.bintray.com/openmediavault-plugin-developers/erasmus jessie main
    # OMV-Extras.org Testing
    deb https://dl.bintray.com/openmediavault-plugin-developers/erasmus-testing jessie main
    # Plexmediaserver
    deb https://dl.bintray.com/openmediavault-plugin-developers/erasmus-plex jessie main
    deb https://downloads.plex.tv/repo/deb/ public main

attached is the error message I get when trying to do a update through update management

  • when I did the "ping google.com" it went on this never ending attempt ...

but here is my "apt-get update"

  • OK .. i cant see the problem

    if you mean

W: Conflicting distribution: https://downloads.plex.tv public InRelease (expected public but got )
    W: Failed to fetch https://dl.bintray.com/openmediavault-plugin-developers/erasmus-testing/dists/{distribution}/{components}/binary-amd64/Packages HttpError404

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

    W is a Warning (not Error) :))

  • Edit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/omv-extras-org.list

    Change this:

    deb https://downloads.plex.tv/repo/deb/ public main

    To this:

    deb https://downloads.plex.tv/repo/deb/ ./public main

Save the file and run apt-get update again.

    OMV AMD64 6.x on headless Chenbro NR12000 1U 1x 8m Quad Core E3-1220 3.1GHz 16GB ECC RAM.

Edited 2 times, last by The Master ().

  • changed the file and still get the same update error (side note, not able to re-install plex either, but I think the update management is a bigger issue)

  • Having a similar issue. I do not know what to do.

Just re-installed 3.0.85 on my HP with an i3-2120 and 4 GB memory. Because PLEX stopped working. In my limited wisdom; I messed-up permissions. Data being data — I reinstalled OS. By the way Plex is working :)

Update Management — Update went fine. Mostly firmware files as I recall.

Update Management — Now gives this error(it is all one line):

    Retiring OMV 4.x on intel
Building OMV 5.x on AMD based Dell R5715

  • Also OMV-Extra updater gives me a bunch of this:

    Retiring OMV 4.x on intel
Building OMV 5.x on AMD based Dell R5715

  • Did you install without a network connection? Either way, you need to remove the cdrom lines from /etc/apt/sources.list

    omv 6.0.8-1 Shaitan | 64 bit | 5.15 proxmox kernel | omvextrasorg 6.0.5 | kvm plugin 6.0.3
omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github

Please read this before posting a question.
Please don't PM for support... Too many PMs!

  • Was a clean install with network working, yet "deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 8 _Jessie_ - Official Snapshot amd64 LIVE/INSTALL Binary 20170706-22:03]/ jessie contrib main non-free" was in /etc/apt/sources.list. I commented it out, and all is good in the world again. :P

    Thank you.
