docker-compose v3 format?

should the docker-ce in omv 4 be able to handle docker-compose.yml version 3 files? when I try I get

Docker compose is a separate binary doesn’t ship with docker-ce, please read the docker documentation on how to install or upgrade compose.

What is strange? You don’t need the forum just update docker-compose binary.

sure, what I meant is that I have the latest stable docker-compose installed but it doesn't accept v3 docker-compose.yml files. so, it's something I haven't figured out yet, has maybe nothing to do with docker-compose but my silly brain.
