I type sudo apt-get install ntp.
And contiuned.
It removed openmediavault.

Enlighten a noob. What happened under the hood?

Yes... And with almost nothing experience with Linux systems I thought "It installs ntp, not removing anything." Was wrong.
Hopefully, install script worked, and all my setting were there.
omg... why does linux do that? or, why did it do that in this instance?
Installing ntp makes chrony superfluous. But a lot of OMV depends on chrony, so removing chrony to make way for ntp creates havoc.
There are other packages that when removed will cause similar problems.
