Updated Portainer via gui and broke it.

  • So like an idiot i updated to 2.11.1 via "OMV GUI and click the portainer drop down and click install" method and broken Portainer. I get an error about authorization token and greyed out options in portainer after i do log in. Can someone point me to what i need to it to fix this blunder please and thank you for any help you can provide.

http error: A valid authorisation token is missing (err=Unauthorized) (code=401)"

  • I noticed the portainer container is greyed out so it can't be stopped or start etc. Is this normal?

    That’s normal

Portainer have the permission to manage containers only if they were created by portainer.

Since portainer is created by OMV (more precisely from CLI) it has no right to manage it.

  • Portainer have the permission to manage containers only if they were created by portainer.

Not true here. I have fifteen containers and only two of them were created in Portainer. All of them can be managed by Portainer.

A backup strategy is worthless unless you have a verified to work by testing restore strategy.

    OMV AMD64 7.x on headless Chenbro NR12000 1U Intel Xeon CPU E3-1230 V2 @ 3.30GHz 32GB ECC RAM.

  • I have no problem with the rest of my containers and everything seems to be working I just noticed this after upgrading to Portainer 2.11.1.
