[SOLVED] System | Kernel | Set boot

  • If I select a kernel from the list, press the Set boot button, and reboot, the desired kernel becomes the default kernel to boot. However, the check mark in the Default column in the interface does not move to that kernel. I do not recall seeing the typical Apply changes box appear as expected after pressing the Set boot button.

    If I change the Set boot kernel again to another kernel, no Apply change box appears, but the kernel that is booted is correct and matches the choice made. Again, the check mark in the Default column does not move to the selected boot kernel.

    It's purely cosmetic as the selected kernel always seems to be the the kernel that boots.

    The datatable just isn't refreshing. After selecting a default kernel, did you try leaving the plugin and coming back or just clicking the reload button in the top right of the datatable?

    Strange. I just tried this and it updates right away every time on two systems. The apply changes box shouldn't appear for this. Can you post your /etc/default/grub and /boot/grub/grub.cfg?

    gderf I will improve my grep but the doubled entry is why it is broken on your system.

    Your system:

    Code
    $ grep "GRUB_DEFAULT=" grub.txt
    #GRUB_DEFAULT=3
    GRUB_DEFAULT=3

    My system:

    Code
    $ grep "GRUB_DEFAULT="  /etc/default/grub
    GRUB_DEFAULT=0

    can it be that it is on hold?

    Nope. They plugin never looks at installed packages for the current kernel or the installed kernels.
