I have put my origin problems into a spoiler since I progressed since yesterday. I was running OMV5, installed a 10GB NIC X540-T2 and ran into problems.
Today I decided to go for a release upgrade. I just did that, had a small upgrade journey:
491 apt update -y
492 apt upgrade -y
494 dpkg -i --force-all /var/cache/apt/archives/firmware-ath9k-htc_1.4.0-108-gd856466+dfsg1-1.3~bpo11+1_all.deb
495 apt upgrade -y
496 apt autoremove
497 apt update -y
498 apt upgrade -y
499 omv-upgrade
500 reboot now
501 omv-firstaid
now after update it seems like the base of omv6 is working fine. I saw omv-extras 6.3.1 is installed according to plugins. I tried to install kvm 6.2.16 and was able to start some VMs again, which was one problem I had before. But next I try to install portainer and that should be under omv-extras tab but there is only a message saying 'install openmediavault-compose to provide docker functionality'
When I try to install this plugin after a while I get 'error 500 - internal server error - failed to read from socket: connection reset by peer' then the plugin shows installed after browser refresh but no 'config-change-apply' popup so I guess config was not applied and therefore there is still no docker thingy in omv-extras tab. not sure how to continue here, any help appreciated

I just installed an intel x540-T2 10GB NIC to my NAS running OMV5. I used the onboard 1GB NIC of my asus c246m motherboard before. I performed a omv-firstaid after, reconfigured network (forgot exact option name) and at first everything looked ok.
But now I see several problems. It started with my portainer installation not working anymore, the web GUI could not get opened. I fixed this by reinstalling portainer over the OMV WebGUI.
After that I figured some more problems with seevral docker container running. i.e. jdownloader container could not start any downloads but I fixed that by deleting the network and reassigning it in portainer. that worked for most container except machinaris (chia/chives farming container). On machinaris I can reach the GUI, even can ping google from the container shell but farming is not possible.
Next I have some VMs in KVM but these simply dont start anymore. I tried to clone a machine or do a new one but no more VM for me on this machine.
Now Im unsure what to do tbh. I feel like the best fix might be to do a fresh install since there is also OMV6 available. would you guys do a distro upgrade to keep most of the config or do it from scratch? Or do you have an idea that Im not aware of to fix the current installation? /var/log/messages not really showing any problem.
I really did not understand why/what happended when changing the NIC to 10GBit tbh and now I wonder hats the problem here. I assume OMV does some advanced stuff on the interface that has internet access and is just using one NIC only, maybe for security purposes? maybe some one can give me more infos on general here.
Any help appreciated, I work with a zfs raidz2 and VM for work too so I appreciate any advise because it is just not for fun on my NAS anymore
