Upgrade from OMV 6 to 7: System Crash and Reboot During Installation

    I had no issues with updates under OMV 6, but I encountered a crash during the upgrade to OMV 7 which led to a system reboot.


    **Describe the bug**


    I upgraded from OMV 6 (running on Armbian 23.8.1 Bullseye with Linux 6.1.63-current-meson64) to OMV 7 (on Armbian 23.8.1 Bookworm with Linux 6.1.63-current-meson64).


    When attempting to purge smartmontools, I faced a dependency issue, as "openmediavault depends on smartmontools."



    **Steps to reproduce the behavior:**


    1. apt update

    2. apt dist-upgrade

    3. omv-release-upgrade

    4. Crash, reboot.

    5." dpkg --configure -a" installation of package "Setting up smartmontools (7.3.1+1)." first line and crash + reboot.

    6. If I use "apt upgrade", same symptom " Setting up util-linux (2.38.1-5+1) first line crash + reboot.

    I have the same issue.


    I did a clean installation of Debian 12 on odroid hc4 and then I installed OMV7.

    When I use apt the system crashes and reboot.
