Hi, i'm new in here and really curious about this kind of setup.
I’m planning to build a Network Attached Storage (NAS) using my old PC. Here are the specifications:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 (which doesn’t have an integrated GPU)
- RAM: 8 GB (around 3200Mhz)
- Motherboard: MSI ProVDH B350M (M-Atx Motherboard)
- Storage:
- Old Hard Drive (for data storage)
- NVMe SSD (for cache)
- SATA SSD (for the operating system)
I intend to use OpenMediaVault as the operating system.
My question is: Can I build this NAS without a dedicated GPU?
Since the Ryzen 5 1600 lacks integrated graphics, will it still function properly for NAS purposes?
Thanks in advance for your insights!
