Can you post pictures from your permissions of user urbackup and the location you specified in UrBackup?

The path you entered in the GUI of urbackup is not complete. It must start with /srv/dev-disk-by-label... or /media/...
To see the absolute path of your shared folder:
- in the GUI of OMV go to shared folder
- put your curser on the title bar of the collumns
- when you see a small error pointing down, click on the arrow and select "absolute path"
- a new collumn will show the absolute path of your shared folders
- enter the aboslut path in the GUI of UrBackup
There is also a video which shows how to add a collumn: https://github.com/OpenMediaVault-Plugin-Developers/videos

You need to give the user and group "urbackup" the rights for the folder "backup".
To give access only to folder "urbackup" is not enough. -
-
you have a folder structure /backup/urbackup/
With this you gave the user "urbackup" access to the folder "urbackup", but you also need to give access to the upstream folder "backup"
-
So create anaother shared folder with target "backup" and use ACL to give the user and group "urbackup" access to this folder.
-
the recursive option.?
-
should not be needed as folder "urbackup" already has the rights. But if there is only one folder below "backup" it would not harm.
-
that worked, wonder what was wrong

So urbackup up and running?
It is worth reading the manual for urbackup

yes i am up and running, thank you for your help.
i didn't know about that absolute path, that was my first stumbling block, not sure why the permissions didnt work though, i never thought about making another shared folder.

There are different ways to do it. From CLI, FileZilla or WinSCP.
flmaxey also used different rights:

Hi,
I got the same problem. My folder is located on a ZFS Pool "/Tank/Urbackup/Urbackup". Both Urbackup-Folders are owned by urbackup. But still no access. What can I do?
