Hi Guys,
how can I get OMV on my Berry?
I have tried some different images, but they seems not to work.
Or should I better change it to Allnet Banana Pi Pro?
Thanks.
Nico

Try to install a Debian image (without desktop environment) and then install OMV.
Hi niphja
It is quite possible to install on the Banana Pi M2 Berry OMV.
As already said macom has a Debian with Dektop environment that does not look for OMV.
I had OMV3 and it went well, now I have OMV4 that's not that easy you have to install some package but it works too.
With the Banana Pi M2 Berry you need a fan because it gets very warm.
Thank you for your answer, macon.
Hallo Wolf 2000,
ich versuche mich mal an deinem Script. (https://forum-bpi.de/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=499) Mal schauen, ob ich das hinbekomme.
Beim RPi3 war das damals einfacher.
Vielen Dank schon mal.

Why do you limit yourself to Bananas that share the same design flaw (crappy Micro USB for DC-IN leading to all sorts of underpowering problems)? There are a lot more interesting ARM boards out there that are way more performant than those Bananas and their crippled Allwinnner SATA (which is just the slowest SATA implementation on this planet): Which energy efficient ARM platform to choose?
Wrt BPi M2 Berry: for the R40 SoC currently there's only a smelly 3.10 Android kernel available. If you find a working Debian Jessie image you can install OMV 3 as @macom suggested. OMV 4 relies on Debian Stretch which needs at least 3.14 kernel to not unnecessarily weaken Debian security policies.
ich versuche mich mal an deinem Script
This script does NOT contain any of the necessary performance optimizations for ARM boards * and does also not check the prerequisits (OMV 3 needs Jessie, OMV 4 needs Stretch). Better follow @macom suggestion.
Thank you all, now my BPi works fine.
I followed macom's suggestion. At first I had installed "2017-08-27-debian-8-jessie-lite-beta-bpi-m2u-sd-emmc" and then followed tkaisers steps. Wolf's manual didn't work for me, maybe I did something wrong.
Why do you limit yourself to Bananas ...
I bought my ARM board at Conrad. They only have RPis, BPis or ASUS Tinkerboard.
I don't use the SATA-Port, maybe later. I have only two (until now) external HDDs on it, using Samba and FTP.
Thanks again.
Nico
Hi niphja
You can not install OMV4 on jessie but OMV3
Good evening Wolf2000,
I tried it with your image: "2017-08-25-raspbian-stretch-preview-bpi-m2u-sd-emmc.img", but there was an error. So I tried the other way.
Maybe I did something wrong or a typo. I don't know. I'm just happy that it function now.
