Tried that but it says that fail2ban is already installed but I am not able to enable it:
root@Krisol:~# apt-get install fail2ban

Building dependency tree

fail2ban is already the newest version.
fail2ban set to manually installed.
openmediavault-fail2ban first version now available for testing

Do you receive an error message?

Just installed the plugin. Thanks for making this, I was just looking at the Fail2Ban page last night and seeing how to configure everything, but this already has all the ports I need covered. Awesome dude, thanks!
Also, I took the liberty to making some (IMO) better icons (including cleaning up the original icon from F2B). All are SVg in the zip and only black with transparent BG, like the other OMV icons.
Not sure why the PNG's linked are showing white BG, the ones I have in that folder are transparent, odd.... -
Thanks hakarune, the plugin have already white and black icons but admins haven't build the new package yet on, see github https://github.com/OpenMediaVa…s/openmediavault-fail2ban.
-
Sorry about that. I guess I didn't see those revisions. 1.1.2 in repo now
-
Thanks, you have only 2 eyes
-
Send me pm when I am slacking like that next time

Oh didn't check the repo, just looked at stay installed and was like oh, I'll clean up the logo and make it symmetrical, then got ideas lol.
Thanks again!
@tekkb, what video tutorials are needed? I might have some free time this week.
-
You can pretty much make instructional videos on anything. Do it on anything you currently use that you found difficult where people might find a video helpful.

Hi,
I successfully installed fail2ban but it is not working for nginx. Could someone tell me how to configure a jail for nginx? I tried a wrong password to log in to OMV and then checked the nginx logs but can´t seem to find anything to filter on.
Thanks in advance!

Don't know if it's a bug, but I'm not able to save the configuration, the apply button never appears
I have to manually edit "jail.conf"No problem with the jails tab, just with the settings tab
OMV 1.19
Linux 3.2.0-amd-64 -
Why am I getting this?
Failed to execute command 'fail2ban-client status 2>&1': ERROR Unable to contact server. Is it running?
Error #4000:

only way to make it work is by logging in from terminal and run fail2ban-server...

ERROR Unable to contact server. Is it running? After running fail2ban-server manually, it looks as if it's running, reporting status and log in OMV
But it doesn't seem to work.Tried logging in through ssh with wrong creds for about 50 times but I never got banned...

Hi,
the plugin provides apache rules but no nginx rules (used by OMV). Is there some rule to protect OMV interface with fail2ba
-
OMV Interface protects itself by default. If you fail 3 times, it blocks you for 180 seconds. There is no special message, saying that you are blocked.
-
-
Blocked IP´s should show up in your Authentication- or Syslog. At this moment it is not possible to either change the period or the numer of tries.
-
Hi all
I'm come back form holidays, i will work on nginx jail soon...
