You should spend more time on this forum reading about OMV if you are interested in OMV

I just got the courage to switch to OMV 3, and the patience to reinstall everything from scratch.
So far... so good!

I still think a plugin check before upgrade (like we discussed in the developer forum) is a must before finally releasing it. Too many problems occure while upgrading. AND/OR recommend a fresh installation.

We're quiet good over there, too
If someone asks questions we can't answer we send them hereAnd to AUFS/Snapraid -> I couldn't reproduce this error. Anyway, I'm using mergerfs now and it works like a charm

If someone asks questions we can't answer we send them hereI didn't say there is a lack of skills over there. I just think information in two places means there is a good chance that work is being duplicated.

you´re right .... shure.....

So there will be an new ISO anytime soon?

What's wrong with the current ISO? You can update to the latest packages from the updates tab.

i meant for an clean 3.0 install

The 3.0.36 ISO is fine for a clean install. Updates are a normal process and not a major issue.

Yeah im totally fine with that just though about "stable iso" already running 3.0.36 now
-
If the first thing you do is install all updates, you won't have any issues. If you are that worried about it, either wait for a new ISO or install Debian then OMV.

I do not mean to be annoying, but since my question seems to have been missed:
@votdev I had some problems upgrading from OMV2 to OMV3 with some of my plugins. Is this still an issue, or is it going to always be an issue and I should either deal with it or do a fresh install?
-
Which plugins? The dbus error that requires a reboot to complete the upgrade will probably always be there. Other problems are solvable with a little help. That said, I still prefer clean installs.

I have to go through some of my old posts and find out what exactly I am having problems with, but somewhere along the way I posted the issues that I was experiencing when trying the upgrade in a VM. I have not actually done the upgrade on RPi.

Lots of things have changed but I didn't realize you were upgrading an RPi. Don't upgrade that. The VM is fine though.

I´ve just installed OMV 3.x over LMDE2 (Debian 8 - base) today for testing.
I followed this guide:
http://forum.openmediavault.or…nstall-on-Deb-8-x-Jessie/
.... and the steps from @andremadar were very very helpfull! Thank you for that.
I had the dbus-error, too - but after a reboot everything was fine.I just downloaded the last omv-extras for OMV3.x .... installed the plugins i thought .... the backport-kernel ...... everything works now.
At last i´m looking for mergerfs - i could not find it?!
