I still have my OMV 3.0 working perfect But since I cannot access root to upgrade and also to install pI hole,I decided to start fresh. I downloaded OMV_4_Raspberry_Pi_2_3_3Plus.img burned it on an SD the IP is now http://192.168.2.122/ but I cannot access it thru web gui and winscp does not recognize the root password!
Cannot access web gui on new OMV_4_Raspberry_Pi_2_3_3Plus.img install

Hi.
You should be more specific about the error / what are you experiencing.
Have you at least an access to the login screen ? Did you open some logs ?
Don't know if it can help, but I've just solved something on my omv server lately : GUI Unauthorized login attempt
Regards,

I don't know how to get an installation log, since I cannot login but I know it is booting, since I can see it when I connect a monitor on the HDMI out

Did you follow the instructions from the download page and did the RPi have internet connection during the first boot?
-
Yes it has been always connected to my router.

here what I can get using a monitor https://photos.app.goo.gl/SpdoaZ3c8wdc1e6T9 still cannot access it beside it I even put it on my old PI # with a new card no difference !
How can I upgrade my 3.0 installation to 4.0 since all of sudden my privileges as user with ssh and sudo are working and I can get into root with my password?

Well finally got root access after changing PW I am doing the upgrade Omv-release-upgrade as I am writing, will see how it goes but so far so good,
just wondering why a new install is so problematic! and by reading the forum I noticed I am not the only one getting into difficulty.Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk

I need to get to the bottom of it, since my last post, I was just able to do an upgrade but never a fresh one, and since I am gonna get a new SBC very soon, I am worry not to be able to use it.
I just downloaded again the latest one for PI, it boot tell me to go to 192.168.2.56 or 192.168.2.19 for my second PI but no matter one even from a different computer cannot access the Web GUI even from a private webpage to avoid any cache issue I got no problem from my upgraded one from 3.9xx I had no issue but struggling with 4.xx -
Did you take care of the notes on the SF page?
https://sourceforge.net/projec…/Raspberry%20Pi%20images/
On first boot the installation will be finished. REMAIN PATIENT PLEASE sincethis can take up to 20 minutes with a slow SD card and slow internetconnection (needs internet access to update all packages to latest version). After one automatic reboot SD card activity led stops blinking and then yourRaspberry Pi is ready!
And did you check which IP had been assigned to the Pi according to your router?

In the past there have been issues that the IP shown was not correct.
EDIT: probably not the problem as there is a nginx error
-
Yes according to the pic tho is a nginx error

Have you tried logging in as root and running omv-firstaid? Posting the output of: tail /var/log/nginx/openmediavault-webgui_error.log might help

I wish I could but root is not allowed until we give access in the GUI catch 22.

I meant plug a keyboard and monitor into it and login as root.

vi /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/openmediavault-webgui
