Alles anzeigenIn portainer select the container you want to change. You should have a window with "container details" in the top left corner.
Click "duplicate/edit" from the buttons at the top of the page.
Make the changes you want to make (if you want to add a volume, scroll down to "Advanced Container Settings" and then "Volumes")
After you have done the changes: just above the "Advanced Container Settings" there is the "Deploy the Container" button. Click it.
The container will be restarted with your changes. There will be a warning which you can accept.
Damn! True! It was so easy, i didn't see this button!
Alles anzeigenThere are even more ways to setting up an application in docker:
1) Portainer
1a) using the GUI of Portainer by filling the different fields
1b) by copy/paste the content of a docker-compose.yml as discussed before
1c) by using one of the provided Templates ("Add Templates" menue in Portainer)
2) CLI (Command Line Interface)
2a) using a docker command
2b) using a docker-compose.yml file and executing it using docker-compose
example for 2a)
CodeAlles anzeigendocker create \ --name=plex \ --net=host \ -e PUID=1000 \ -e PGID=1000 \ -e VERSION=docker \ -e UMASK_SET=022 `#optional` \ -e PLEX_CLAIM= `#optional` \ -v /path/to/library:/config \ -v path/to/tvseries:/tv \ -v /path/to/movies:/movies \ --restart unless-stopped \ linuxserver/plex
example for 2b)
[How-To] Install Plex Media Server (PMS) container using OMV and docker-compose
3) Cockpit (similar to Portainer, but less functionality regarding docker)
ok
Question: In the left bottom corner new version of portainer is available
If i click on that the link bring me to gith hub. And now? How can i use the files to update portainer?
To clarify the Summary:
1) Portainer
1a) using the GUI of Portainer by filling the different fields (like tech dad do right? fill map addictional volume, env, labels and so on but you need to know all the parameters that i m sure i don't know). So for to do it, i need use ONLY the menu: Containers
1b) by copy/paste the content of a docker-compose.yml as discussed before. In that case I need to use ONLY the menu: stacks
1c) by using one of the provided Templates ("Add Templates" menue in Portainer). Just ready in a list (somebody prepared it)
But however an app created by stacks, containers or with a ready template works in the same way, it's just how i setup it and build it the first time
2) CLI (Command Line Interface)
2a) using a docker command
2b) using a docker-compose.yml file and executing it using docker-compose
3) Cockpit (similar to Portainer, but less functionality regarding docker)
Question: if i want use CLI i need use a software like putty right?
