- Hi folks,
I've been reading up pretty much every single post on this since this issue started up yesterday, and none of them could solve it!
So far I have:
- checked that my root directory has plenty of spave (df -h says it's only 28% full)
- reinstalled omv (apt-get install --reinstall openmediavault)
- created a limited user that can login
- reset the admin password
- reset the failed login counter
- rebooted a few times
- removed and recreated the /php/sessions directory and restarted nginx
It seems that nothing works in my case. I've got a raspberry pi 4 (software last updated yesterday). It was just after the apt-get upgrade yesterday that this issue began.
Can anyone help please?

I have the same problem as OP and I've done his/her attempted fixes. I've also tried the line above. I still get "incorrect username/password" at the GUI login. Is there anything else I can do?

Can you check if admin is member of the openmediavault-admin group?
groups admin should show
CodeIf admin is not user of that group, add admin manually
usermod -a -G openmediavault-admin admin (edited)
You have to change the admin user password using omv-firstaid

Many thanks, that worked. I wonder why admin wasn't in the openmediavault-admin group?

Recently there was a change to enable every user to become an admin in the OMV GUI by adding him to that group. However, still not clear why the change did not succeed on your system.
