Hi, everyone. I am trying to run OMV and Moode Audio on the same RPi4. The problem is that both web services are designed to run as default services when browsing the RPi's IP address. I have read that people are running these in parallel but I can't find information on how to do it. Is there a way to access the OMV/Moode servers directly even if the other is the default web server?
How to run OMV and Moode together

Default port for is web is :80, so assign a different port to the second web page (very common is 8080)
use http://<your_IP>:8080 in browser
-
Thanks, but how do I get the OMV web page to run on port 8080?

Before I answer, let us make sure we have a common understanding of OMV and its configuration.
This will prevent issues due to misconceptions at a much later stage.
Did you read & understanding the meaning of https://openmediavault.readthe…html#custom-configuration?

Unfortunately, I didn't understand that page at all.

You can change the port OMV is listening on in the GUI in General Settings
https://openmediavault.readthe…ght=port#general-settings
or with omv-firstaid from CLI

How can I change any settings if I can't access OMV? If I could access OMV then I wouldn't need to change the port

Thanks for your honest answer.
A NAS is intended to preserve your valuable data.
A computer that is intended for multiple purposes requires careful isolation of the different applications.
OMV has the plugin concept for this purpose.
I've check available plugins but Moode is not provided yet and likely doesn't fit .to the concept
therefore in your case I'd recommend to stop attempts on adding Moode to this computer in order to prevent loss of valuable data stored in OMV.
Does this make sense?

I understand your point although I'm not sure I agree. Plenty of people use their RPis for more than one application.

To be on the safe side, you might consider using docker for other applications. Avoids issues with conflicting dependencies/versions.

Well but at least you understand that:
- changes are on your own risk
- a lot of new skills are waiting to be learned
- simple questions don't lead to getting the desired result directly

Worst case scenario should be some effort needed to restore OS and data (unlikely). That is what backups are for. You need backup. Always.

ssh into your NAS and use omv-firstaid from CLI
How to ssh into the NAS? Have a look at the New User Guide linked in my signature.

There is nothing in your guide about how to do this.

Ok. You can either use Putty or the command line of windows to access the server via ssh.
Open the command line tool in Windows (e.g. by typing "cmd" in the search field of windows).
In the tool type ssh root@ip.of.your.server Instead of root you might have to use pi instead.
If this is not working check section 6 (page 11) of this guide:

or option 3 here
