Hi i found this out
when you attach a cdrom it's works ????????
Can you connect to those ports with a regular spice or vnc client?
Tried with VNC Viewer and it connects, so it is just the word "link" disappearing from the KVM plugin UI.

The error is telling you that the iso is null. So, that makes sense. If you don't want to attach a cdrom, pick "none" from the optical disk dropdown.

The "word" has code backing it that is searching for a process. So, that process must have stopped for the link to disappear. It isn't just a visual bug. Right after it disappears, what are the vnc and spice port numbers and what is the output of: pgrep -u openmediavault-kvmweb -a websockify Can you start new consoles while in bios?
Hi another question is it possible to create notes for a vm like proxmox

Hi another question is it possible to create notes for a vm like proxmox

I guess so. I suppose you would want to edit those notes too?
bien sur it so easy for saving settings, passwords because if you don't work with a vm for a couple of weeks you forget everything

I will look at adding it but please don't use it for passwords.
BTW i think this will be the best plugin for Open Media Vault
in the end you will have a NAS on steroids

I guess it will be better to have none as default instead of null so new users can't get confused with that error.
I am aware it is still in beta but is there a guide somewhere?
Hi look here for some manual
in the middle of the page
but the plugin changes daily
select pool
Have you created your pool(s) in the KVM plugin?
I have a basic pool set up of iso files and kvm files
To do this go to the Pools tab
click Add, Name = iso files, Type = Directory, Path = /path/to/directory/where/iso/files/reside or use the browse button to select a directory, click Save. These iso files are the images u use as installation cd/dvd's. see Optical Drive in Add VM (new vm) or Devices - Add Optical (existing vm)
click Add, Name = kvm files, Type = Directory, Path = /path/to/directory/where/vm/image/files/are/saved or use the browse button to select a directory, click Save. This pool is where the vm images are saved to.
Now when u create a new vm (VMs tab - Add) your Storage Volume - Volume will list available images to attach to ur vm, or when selecting Volume - Create new disk u can select where to save ur disk/volume/image/qcow2 file to (select kvm files pool). And Optical Drive will list all ur images/iso files from the "iso files" pool.
Basic, simple and neat.

I guess I didn't think so many people would be importing existing machines so much and would need to select an iso. I don't have an issue with none being the default though.
Well I am hitting a wall right away I selected the directory were the ISO reside but it can see the iso
Right now I cannot even delete the pool because I am getting communication failure! and the whole omv is stuck
For sure I am doing something wrong?
UPDATE
After emergency reboot pool is active but my vm got no disk (n/a) How can I correct it
Update 2
second try now I got the disk and the iso in the optical but nothing at my ip:5901 or my ip5900
;
Well all of sudden it is working, except my console says: I just have a disk capacity 1 gb, although I think I went for 80gb, I guess I need to explore further more and probably read the the whole thread from the begging Lol. In the meantime just wondering how to edit a VM?
Anyway very promising
Thank you ryecoaaron
