Didn't you have any filesystem created before? Did you put it all in the pool?
Can't set ACL on ZFS
-
-
It was all in one pool. That MainPool. Now I created this ZFS named filesystem.
-
Okay. If you now look at your file system you will see that a new entry has been created with the path /MainPool/ZFS
At this moment you can use /MainPool/ZFS as if it were a shared folder, for that add a folder with that "disk", and in the path simply write / as in the photo
I assume that you will have your data organized in several folders. If you look at the first image of post 9 you will see how I have it. I create a filesystem for each folder I want, and then convert it to shared folders. It is one way of doing it.
You can rename the ZFS file system you created if you want.
Then you will have to put into each folder what you had before in the pool. pool should be empty, only the filesystems you have created.
-
OK, I will try that later. Now I have another issue. I can't access my exisiting shared folders. As you can see on my screenshot. Something went terribly wrong here.
-
Access by SSH and publish the result of
ls -al /MainPool
-
After a reset, I can access those folder again. But they are all empty. For some reason. But my pool is not empty, it say that half of the space is occupied. Also, all my containers work. But they are all I guess on the SSD where my OMV system is located. So, I've lost all my data after all...
-
ls -al /Mainpool/Media
-
root@openmediavault:~# ls -al /Mainpool/Media
ls: cannot access '/Mainpool/Media': No such file or directory
-
sorry, it is
ls -al /MainPool/Media
-
Are you willing to take a look via TeamViewer or AnyDesk? I think it would be much faster.
-
OK. It's all there, right?
What I would do is the following:
Rename /MainPool/Media to /Mainpool/Media_old
Create a Filesystem called Media in the OMV GUI on ZFS
Apply the attributes you want to that Filesystem
Move the contents of /MainPool/Media-old to /MainPool/Media
Then you will have to check if the shared folder that you had configured continues to point to the correct address. Otherwise fix it.
-
I don't have any content to move. It's all deleted. All empty folders. If you want, you can take a peak via TeamView or AnyDesk.
-
Do you know how to do all this?
-
OK, I got the data back. For some reason it changed the device to the new created device, the new filesystem. What the heck?!
-
Do you have WinSCP installed?
-
No, I don't. But I can install it.
-
Maybe you can do it more easily from WinSCP. The files are there, all you have to do is move them to the ZFS filesystem.
-
Check this out. When I go in ZFS it doesn't way it's online. But when I go to File Systems, you can see it says it's online.

That's normal. It is just a filesystem. Look at mine as it looks in the photo I sent you. The only thing that is online is the pool.
-
So, now basically I have to create all those folder on this new file system, and then copy-paste all my content to the new folder? That's the right way?
