Portainer not running issue on OMV 5

  • Hi,

    Hoping for some guidance, as my search on this forum seems to be fruitless. My issue looked very similar to others here but it's something that I haven't seen anyone encounter yet.

    After a reboot, portainer was not running. OMV UI says no container found. Hitting install, gave me the error:

    Docker storage :: /srv/dev-disk-by-label-Seagate8TBD1/Docker

    Agent port:: 8000

    Web port:: 9000

    Yacht port:: 8001

    arch :: armhf

    option :: portainer

    state :: install

    extras :: 5.6.6

    DNS OK.

    No portainer containers or images to remove.

    Pulling and starting portainer/portainer-ce ...

    Something went wrong trying to pull and start portainer ...

    Done.

    I changed the agent and web port to 8002 and 9002 respectively and that didn't help.

    I then tried docker pull portainer/portainer-ce:latest

    root@NAS:~# docker pull portainer/portainer-ce:latest

    latest: Pulling from portainer/portainer-ce

    I prned containers and images using docker container prune and docker image prune -a. The issue still seems to persist. Anyone face something similar?

  • Figured it out. an rm -fr did the trick. Leaving it up here for anyone who runs into a similar issue. Now just gotta figure out why myip:9000 for portainer is not reachable.

    you solve this? I'm too with portainer not reachable, docker is running fine, even portainer is running... but I can't reach the web panel on 9000 port.

    Debian Wheezy 7.8 64 bits + OMV 1.12 kralizec + 3.16 backport kernel

    Radxa Rock + NAND 8 GB OS + 1 TB HD Western Digital
    Debian Wheezy 7 ARM 32 bits + OMV 1.12 kralizec

    Nope, could never figure out why port 9000 or any other port wasn't reachable for portainer. I removed docker and reinstalled docker via omv-extras. My data was still intact.

  • I've the same problem.

    Portainer reinstalled, Docker reinstalled, OMV Extras reinstalled. Nothing.

    Dashboard say: Portainer created, but not rununing. Upgrade to OMV 6 has the same problems.

    Any Ideas here?

  • Hi again,

    portainer works. I've created two container. Jellyfine and Homeassistent. Both are working, but there is no cennection to it from my pc.

    Ports are forwarded inside containers. And i get error 500 inside Portainer, while changing values und restart Jellyfin.

    Look like's better to install docker via cli. And the needed programms also. :(
