I have OMV running with a storage drive mounted, file system created on it. This file system is also shared (SMB) and I also reference it in docker containers.
I'd like to extend the capacity of this file system by connecting another external drive to OMV. Is there a way to "add" the capacity of the new drive to the existing one?
I assume I have to create a pool with the two drives, but my question is
- Is it possible to do it without disturbing my current settings in the shared folder and docker references? Or the only way to do it is to create a pooled file system and set up a the sharing and docker volumes again?
- If I have to create a new pooled file system, will the data (and folder structure) on my current drive survive, or do I have to back up the data and restore it after the new file system is created?
Note: I don't need any redundancy in the pooled file system, it doesn't hold sensitive data.
