Generally jobs that run directly in the GUI do not result in an email being sent because you are already seeing the result on the screen at that time. For the email to be sent it has to be a scheduled job. Are you doing it like this?
I have not used this plugin much but reading the notes next to the options and knowing the standard operation of the OMV GUI I understand the following. The send email option will trigger sending an email only if there is an exit, and also if there is no session logged into the GUI. If you are logged in to the GUI and are viewing the process, an email will not be sent. Furthermore, the quiet option means that an email is only sent if an error has occurred during the process, otherwise no email will be sent.
I understand that the use of that email is probably to receive a notice saying that the copy has been completed, etc. But this will only happen if you plug in the USB drive without logging into OMV. To receive this the quiet option should be unchecked. This can be useful, for example, if you always have a USB drive connected that turns on and off automatically at certain times of the day.
What do you expect to receive in that email?
If this does affect the send, why is that not explained in the USB Backup plugin setup?
