I was wondering if any one has migrated from trueNAS into OMV. For my application trueNAS is no longer working out. As I need new features on a more updated pace than the glacier progress of trueNAS. I know I have to install OMV extras and the promox kernel to get ZFS support. I have no backups and no other storage locations to handle the current amount of data that I have(Mostly Videos). So migrating to a more linux centric filesystem is out of the question. I was also looking at trying to install at least linux 6.2+.
I have a dual GPU in my NAS and one is an A380 which requires the 6.2 kernel to work and the other is a NVIDIA 730. I was wondering if there are any pitfalls I should be aware of. I haven't seen any red flags I should be aware of through google. Compatibility with GPU pass-through and docker is what I am trying to achieve as my Jellyfin container desperately needs a GPU encoder for 4k h265 files.A Ryzen 7 5700x with all CPU resources available to the container can barely pump out .75x transcode speeds. And I am also looking at HDR to SDR tansncoding which in Jellyfin requires a GPU.
I ran Arch as a daily driver for over a year and if I have to I would turn that install that in a server but I would prefer an OS that out of the box with some tweaks work with as NAS with a remote web GUI interface.
Thanks for any thoughts or guidance.
