so. Newbie here, built a NAS:
Asrock itx w/ 32gb DDR4 and an 8th gen Intel CPU and 33TB of storage.
Got SMB working for a media folder and for local shares for the family.
Also decided to put jellyfin in a docker so I could stream my movie collection.
Here's the kicker. For some unholy reason, I cannot connect to the machine by ip address. So most apps on streaming boxes won't connect.
I can only connect to the machine via the hostname.
Every article I've found is for solving the exact reverse problem.
I'd also like to hook up a cloudflare tunnel to the thing so I can access it outside my house, since I have TMobile internet and portforwarding on my router is not an option. (Neither is switching ISPs because it's them or nothing as far as internet where I live)
But again, no connection via Ip, no tunnel.
The local static ip should be set to 192.168.12.2 for Ethernet, 192.168.12.3 for WiFi.
If anyone has any suggestions, you will have my eternal gratitude.
