Newbie here to OMV. (and pretty linux green as well to be honest)
Have had my NAS up and running for about a month now.
Very straight forward setup,
A handful of SMB shares that I back up my windows devices and mobile phone photos to.
Running plex server in a docker container.
This evening my shares aren't reachable, the web interface is unable to connect.
I have only updated things via the GUI.
The last thing I did was to update one of the packages when prompted. (don't remember the details of which one it was)
I'm figuring that probably broke something
interestingly, the plex server is still working fine.
omv version below
dpkg-query -l 'openmediavault'

|/ Err?=(none)/Reinst-required (Status,Err: uppercase=bad)
||/ Name Version Architecture Description
+++-==============-============-============-===========================================================
ii openmediavault 7.4.10-1 all openmediavault - The open network attached storage solution
or maybe this
Linux openmediavault 6.1.0-26-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.112-1 (2024-09-30) x86_64
things I have tried
reboot machine
I can ssh to the machine
I can run omv-firstaid
the 10 options come up, but I get the following error whenever I pick any of the options
ERROR: Failed to connect /var/lib/openmediavault/engined.sock: [Errno 111] Connection refused
sudo omv-upgrade
this gets part way through then starts hitting a whole bunch of read only file system errors like this
Could not create temporary file for /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/_var_cache_openmediavault_archives_Packages - mkstemp (30: Read-only file system)
other info
Running on an old HP microserver nl40 that I have repurposed. (was previously running windows 7 as a dlna server)
OMV is installed on a ssd drive running off the the spare sata port on the MB. SSD is about 18 months old. Came out of my home pc when I upgraded the internals.
Looking for some hints on where to go next.
Thanks in advance.
