Btrfs/ZFS support

There was a bug in omv-extras that caused the kernel headers to not be installed. Should be fixed in 1.0.28.

  • first I tried apt-get purge iscsitarget iscsitarget-dkms openmediavault-iscsitarget
    and remove zfs plug.

next purge spl-dkms zfsutils libzfs2. and reinstall that.
    and I did
    apt-get --reinstall install linux-headers-$(uname -r)
    again.

    last
    upgrade OMV-extras.org!!

I can see ZFS option now!!!

    THX supports!!!!!!;)
※I did not tried iscsi yet. sorry...

  • Now, I've installed the zfs plugin, everything seems ok during installing, but I still can't see zfs option under Storage.
Attachment is what dpkg looks like.

  • @blublub I can't install the old version, even if I disable the zfs source in omv-extras. Each time I upload the old version, it will check if new one exists, and I can only see the newest one.

  • @blublub If I remove 0.6.3.4 in webui, then I'll mtet dependency problem when using dpkg, I'm not very familiar with command line of debian. So I remove it in cli, and install 0.6.3.2, still no optoin for zfs, and even the name in plugin manager is still 0.6.3.4.

  • Seems like a lot of problems with installation of the plugin... I need some info from you guys on the methods you've used in setting up your systems. Have you started with the 1.0.21 OMV image, or with a blank Debian Wheezy and then added the correct repos? Have you enabled the ZFS box in omvextras before upgrading that plugin? More or less I'd need all the steps taken before you tried to install the plugin. Based on your info I can then setup a new VM and try to localize the issue.

Also @ryecoaaron, could you please remove any old versions of the plugin from your server since they can potentially mess up the config.xml file. So please don't use old versions of the plugin.

  • Did you install omvextras as per the instructions and enable ZFS support in there? Also could you please try to remove the plugin via dpkg and then upload it to the GUI instead. This will take care of dependency issues for you.

First try and remove with apt-get purge openmediavault-zfs

Then with the package in a folder try dpkg -i openmediavault-zfs_0.6.3.4_amd64.deb to check everything is in order run apt-get -f install

Open your browser and try two options:
    - clear your browser cache
    - open in chrome private move

See if the zfs section is available now in storage
