I have removed openmediavault-k8s with dpkg --> now the gui is reachable

In the gui K8s plugin is marked "installed"

After deinstall this, a reinstall leads to the same error.

This isn't an error. It just omv-engined being restarted. This happens whenever installing or uninstalling a plugin. It won't stop the process. Just hit ctrl-shift-R if it does.

  • I got the same error. The command "systemctl status openmediavault-engined.service" shows:

It appears some files in the directory "/usr/share/php/openmediavault/vendor/composer/../symfony/polyfill-ctype/" are missing.

  • Same here. After updating the K8S plugin, I couldn't login to the WebUI anymore (Same error as OP). After removing the K8S plugin via CLI the WebUI is working again. Tried reinstalling the K8S plugin, but then the issues comes back.

I have the k8s plugin installed on three machines without issue. What is the output of: sudo omv-salt deploy run k3s nginx phpfpm

After running sudo omv-mkworkbench all, I can reproduce this. votdev

  • It also works for me. Thank you very much.

UPDATE: I should have said that the plugin installation works fine now. However, it seems missing a package as dependency. When I enabled the plugin, saved, confirmed changes, and then "Copy token", I got an error:

Installing the package kubernetes-client cured that. (I still can't copy the token because of a different error, and am still investigating it.)

    Much appreciated.

The commands you provided worked! I purged the kubernetes-client package first, then ran those commands. Just as you said, kubectl is a symlink to k3s. Just to be sure, I uninstalled the k8s plugin and installed it again. So far everything works. Now I can start trying out the k8s plugin. Thanks!
