OMV 5.0 - finally out! :-)

  • Cannot even do that, got disconnected at the beginning of the process is rebooting by itself ask me to do dpkg --configure -a but same, reboot right away

Maybe I can try apt-get install --reinstall openmediavault before performing the upgrade?

also before the reboot after the first instruction wget -O - https://github.com/OpenMediaVa…pt/raw/master/upgrade4to5 | sudo bash

    got

    * issue (Y/I/N/O/D/Z) [default=N] ? dpkg: error processing package base-files (--configure):

end of file on stdin at conffile prompt

    Errors were encountered while processing:

    base-files

    E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

    second try

    omv-salt deploy run nginx

    -bash: omv-salt: command not found

    root@rockpro64:~#

    root@rockpro64:~# Processing triggers for libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0:arm64 (2.38.1+dfsg-1) ...

-bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('

    root@rockpro64:~#

  • Hi, I tried to update from 4.x to 5.x but got several errors see screenshots below.

Now I really dont know what I can do to get everything running.

    Thanks in advice.

    omv-confdbadm migrate conf 5.0.0

and make sure to clear your browser cache.

  • Hi again,

another problem occured while I try to set some thing up.

First I have no DNS (nameserver) so I got an error when I try to download oms-extras..

I edited "/etc/resolv.conf" so I could download some stuff..

    But after reboot it's gone.

An other problem is, i can't configure eth0 in the gui.

I would like to add a static Ip.

If I try to and save I get this error-message:

Also omv-firstaid does not solve this

  • That's OK, I found solution after udev rules modifications and new rules creation.

New symlinks created, OMV device detection is now OK

Thanks a lot for your help !!

Please tell us how your network interfaces configuration looks like. It seems you've configured eth0 twice which shouldn't be possible.

Hi, thank you for your response, but I solved it in some way...

I setted "docker" as interface and switched back to "eth0"... via omv-firstaid

So atm it works fine :/

Anyways.. the only uncommented line in /etc/network/interfaces is

    Code
    source-directory /etc/network/interfaces.d

As said, OMV uses systemd-networkd for the network configuration. The old Debian style /etc/network/interfaces is not used anymore.

  • I have problem.

    After doing that got error.

502 bad gateway instead of GUI.

  • Bookmark that page or this thread, the problem may return.

  • Hi,

I'm running OMV 4, and this is the second time I run the procedure described in post #38, but still with the same error.

I've verified before that all non-ported plugins are uninstalled before, but error persists at the end of dist-upgrade: it seems there is a conflict with my plugins at the very end of the installation.

Your support will be appreciated, as I'd like to avoid to perform an install from scratch.

    This is what I get:

    OMV5 64bits - Intel i5-7400

    4 * 2TB Hdd Raid 5 + 1 SSD 128Go

  • Just to complement my analysis as MatrixThareal had the same issue in post #263.

Output of omv-salt stage run all is exactly the same than MatrixThareal:

grep mtu /etc/openmediavault/config.xml has the following output:

    Code
                        <mtu>0...n</mtu>
              <mtu>0</mtu>

(the first mtu line is commented)

If I remove the line mtu, I get the same error with omv-salt

omv-extras didn't upgrade properly. I would purge it and re-install.

    sudo apt-get purge openmediavault-omvextrasorg

    wget -O - http://omv-extras.org/install | sudo bash

    The mtu output is fine.

  • Thx for your quick feedback ryecoaaron; that's much appreciated, I'm really struggling...

The purge command fails and it displays the same error, related with dependancies between plugins and omv:

Running dpkg -l, I still see all omv-extras installed... ;(
