I'm actually looking at a solution to backup OMV so i can write the resulting image with the backup on a microsd in case of need to reinstall the system and restore the actual situation.
To now i'm on an Odroid HC2.

Does not work on HC2 as you cannot boot into the Clonezilla image.
You can clone the SD card. This is the safest and easiest way.
You can use the backup plugin. Easy to backup, but a bit more complicated to restore.

Could you point me on how to clone my SD card? There is a procedure for OMV in particular?

On Windows you can use Win32Diskimager.

Thanks! I see this tool does not create. img files but just compressed archives. I suppose it's the same thing, I can write these compressed archive and restore my backup right?
Another thing, my microsd card has the btrfs file system, probably omv did that. When I will restore my backup on an NTFS microsd the filesystem will change to btrfs accordingly?

You can decide whether the image shall be compressed or not.

It does not matter what has been on the SD card. Everything will be overwritten and will be lost.
As usual you should test the SD card with h2testw or f3.
Strange, I see only one with an SD card with OMV installed.
All three have the same size. Is this a 32GB card?

Minimum for Mac version is Mojave (10.14). On a Mac dd in Terminal has always been good to me. You just have to be careful to keep your "if" and "of" straight. Easy steps here.

I suggest you simply try to backup and then restore to another sd card. Use one of them. The first?
And then try to boot from the copy.
To test and verify is part of doing a backup. Until you have tested and verified the clone you can't know that you have actually made a backup.

In Win32 Disk Imager i see there is the option to only read allocated partitions. Should this option be preferable?

I have intended that sentence as "backup only the space that's used". So it will not produce a backup file the same size of the whole microsd. Am i wrong?

win32diskimager will still backup unused space on partitions. usbimager at least can compress the image and empty space usually compresses very well. I just used usbimager with the compress and verify options checked to read a 32GB SD card (RPi4 running OMV) and the compressed image was 885MB. It took about 16 mins to create.

What value did you used in the drop down menu, from 1M to 512M?
