I have activated the notifications in OMV and they are working because when i login i receive an email.
But i never received other emails apart the one for the login from another location. Is this normal? Emails arrive only in case of errors? I have all of them activated, i should receive also emails for updates right? Never received.
Any idea?

Never received email from monit 
Oh, mail from monit means, that something is wrong. In my case a read only filesystem. So, in case of monit it is "no news is good news".

This is apparently cooke driven. I don't get login notifications unless I login from another machine.
