Updates not shown in OMV

Hi,

maybe someone can halp with this issue I am acing since a couple of weeks, but just realized a few days back.

I am regulary reciving a notification through email that several upgrades are downloaded and ready to install. Safety related updates are installed automatically.

When I am checking through the Web interface, there are no updates shown that I can install.

As mentioned, I just relized this a few days back and I am an absolute newbie in OMV and only using the Web interface to Manage my settings and needs.

Maybe someone can help to drill down to the issue?!

Sorry for asking some basic questions, but I am not able to log into the NAS through PUTTY.

The IP adress is correct and also the passwort I am using, I assume is the same passwort the I use to log in through the WEB interface?

I can type in the user:admin

but when I am asked to enter my passwoert, I can not see anything the cursor mooving or anything entered as password?

What am I doing wrong?

So in essence you are saying there are no mor optional updates for OMV5 right, but still security updates will be available?

I saw that many people reporting problems after upgrading from 5->6. Is there a step by step guide on how to upgrade?

Also any help onthe best way to run a backup, as I have never done a backup so far it would be worth doing this prior to upgrading I think?

Thanks Soma, will plan to do the update.

Prior to do that, any suggestions on how the best way to backup my data, as I do have two HDD, whcih are mirrowing each other, so not sure on the best way to do the backup for such mass data?!

Also realized on the above instruction to da a backup of the OS drive. My OS is on an USB stick. As I have never done such a backup, can u adivise any instructions on how to run these backups as well. As an alternative, I could unplug the USB frm the NAS and than do a copy of it, but I am sure there is a more elgant way to do so?!

its been a while but ultimately today I found the time to start the update process. I just failed at the very beginning at the process when I was trying to make a backup with Win32DiskImager.

The issue is that I am not able to find the USB flashdisk in Windows and ultimately it is not been able to select in Win32DiskImagaer as a Device.

I was able to find the USB Flash disk under "Computerverwaltung"->"Datenträgerverwaltung".

BUt no idea what I need to change in order to be able to select the USB Flashdisk as a device in WIN32DiskImager.

it is just blank, nothing wil show up.

IO tried this now on 3 different devices (2 Laptops and 1 Gaming Comupter) and it is the same issue on all of them.

Also what is the same on all three machines, that he FlkashUSB is shown in the Gerätemanager (see screenshot) but it is not shown neither in WIn32DiskImager nor as a Drive under windows explorer.

ANy idea wht the issue might be?
