Mine looks like this.
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults 0 0
My tmpfs line in fstab looks like that as well.

Well maybe it was just a coincidence that it broke after changing fstab. OMV is debian so search debian samba problems.
Good luck
I have tried everythin in regards to fstab, so i guess it must not have anything to do with it as you say. Not sure where else to look. And damn it i just installed 3 days ago, i dont want to go through a new installation once again
Looked back at your screen shot. Seems samba is running. Get some error logs from both sides of the connection please.
Whats all that red letters on the screenshots seemed to me like errors. Anyway i know samba is running, cause i can acces the shares from ftp as i said previously. I just cant access them remotely from any other device. Tried both laptops that were previously working and 2 android mobiles that also both had samba access before.
What logs do you need from windows and android

This doesn't make any sense. FTP and SMB are two completely different things.
It does show the network is not the problem tho so is useful. Did anything else update? Windows firewall? What version of windows? I don't know what windows logs may be available but you might get some info from trying to connect with powershell or cnd. Worth a try anyway.
Nothing makes sense anymore. I'll just have to reinstall
P.S. Last thing i did was install plex media server. And since i had no network when installing OMV i had to do lots of apt get update and upgrade and set debian sources, but i dont think that was harmful
Good luck
I also had an SMB issue the other day, after upgrading to OMV 4, my linux clients wouldn't connect. I added ",vers=1.0" to the /etc/fstab options on the clients and it fixed the problem. Your mileage may vary.

I've recently had to add this version comment to my shares mounted in linux as well and I run OMV 3. I don't think this is the same issue the OP is experiencing though. In my case I could connect to share, and copy files from the share, I could not write to the share. OP is trying to use windows and android clients - not sure how or if the version issue would affect those clients.
i connect to the server machine with putty from my windows. How can i snatch the fstab and get it to my windows machine for easier viewing and manipulation
WinSCP or Filezilla.
I would edit the file remotely. If you edit the file on windows and upload back to Linux, you are asking for trouble. Windows is likely to screw up the file formatting.
I usually use nano over ssh. I have edited a few files with the default editor in winscp and had no problens. If it is really a complicated edit I will get the file with winscp and edit it with notepad++. So far have had no formatting problems yet. Your mileage may very.
Wow guys i randomly pulled out an upset of a win. I just updated everything that had samba on the description from inside web ui on the upgrade tab, and i can finall f***ing access my smb shares. My god what a relief
I know it's an old post. I have the same issue. Spent almost 2 days and still could not figure out how to fix the Samba share issue. Your issue was the same as mine. So I thought to reply here and see if you can explain what exactly you did. I don't want to reinstall everything
I've shoved an OMV specific blog about this over here : https://sites.google.com/view/…authuser=0#h.o4dayltofvee
Portainer 2 also now fixes the issue I reported with not excluding the "shim" IP from the macvlan range - which is nice
