Hey guys,
I've got the following question / problem / setup and hope someone can help me.
I'm running OMV 5 with Portainer and have got SWAG installed. It installed fine and when using the duckdns validation method everything works. I can access the server via my duckdns URL.
So far so good.
I also own my own domain (e.g. http://www.mydomain.de). I can set the A record of my domain to my home servers IP address, use SWAG with http validation and again ... it all works.
The problem is that my ISP keeps changing my IP address every once in a while. Thats why I used my router to automatically update my duckdns domain to point to my current IP address. Using my router to update my A record of my domain service provider doesn't work however.
Now, if I use SWAG with duckdns validation it works for my duckdns URLS, but obviously not for my own domain URLs, because the letsencrypt certificates are obviously issued for the duckdns URL. And using the http valication method will only work for a limited time, until my ISP changes my IP again, which I would have to manually update in my A record.
Is it understandable what I mean and where my problem lies? English isn't my native language unfortunately.
I would love to somehow use SWAG with duckdns, but have the letsencrypt certificates be valid for my own domain.
Is that possible somehow? Or are there other ways to get this working?
Thanks a lot in advance for any help or advise!
