ZFS webui can not apply changes.

  • Hi there

I have another problem with the OMV 6 webui. If I go to the ZFS Pool tab the webui asks me to apply the following changes:

    Code
    Pending configuration changes
You must apply these changes in order for them to take effect.
The following modules will be updated:

        samba
        sharedfolders
        systemd

Then I click apply and get these errors and the whole process repeats itself.

What should I do? Thank you for your time!!

  • No, I didn't edit config files manually.

But I resized the root partition and filesystem with gparted. Could this have caused some issues?

No. There has to be another reason, the database is broken.

    Fatal error 74: EndTag: '</' not found (line=196, column=38)

  • I reinstalled OMV 6 and when I force import my ZFS pools the error occurs.

I reinstalled OMV 6 and when I force import my ZFS pools the error occurs.

How exactly did you force the import?

Have you installed the plugin and have you done it in the GUI? Or from CLI?

What have you done since the installation of OMV up to that moment?

  • So my flow was a follows:

    1. Install OMV 6 in uefi mode with usb stick

    2. Boot into OMV 6

    In Cli:

    3. Install OMV-Extras

    7. Install some additional packages via apt-get install (rclone, vim, htop, git)

    8. git clone this repo https://github.com/bahamas10/zfs-prune-snapshots

    In GUI:

    3. Change Workbench, date, notification, power management, certificates settings.

    4. Create Users and groups (appuser for docker etc.)

    5. ctr-shift-r and head to OMV-extras

    6. Install kernel and backup module

    9. In kernel tab install promox 6.12 kernel and reboot into this kernel

    10. Delete other kernels

    11. Install zfs plugin

    12. Force import all ZFS pools

    13. Got this error. But it only showed up once. Now it never showed up again.

So now the pool is imported? Everything works correctly?

Fatal error 4: Document is empty (line=1, column=1) in /usr/share/php/openmediavault/config/databasebackend.inc:123

According to this error the database is empty, it does not exist.

According to this error the database is empty, it does not exist.

Seems to be working, I also do not get the error anymore. I will report if something changes.

  • I found something very odd. In the ZFS pools tab I only see my existing filesystems etc. Everything is correct. However in the Filesystem tab I have duplicate entries for two of my filesystems from ZFS and in the shared folder drop down menu I also have those duplicates. How can I fix that?

These errors are not normal on a newly installed system. Someone else will have to look at this, I'm not sure how to solve it.
